SAFE AND EFFECTIVE CARE SINCE 1992
EXCELLENT PATIENT SATISFACTION
Our system of care provides patient centered treatments to improve spinal and neuro-muscular function to aid the body’s healing process. We work in conjunction with physicians to find cost effective solutions for patient’s conditions like spinal pain, appendicular joint pain and headaches.
What is Chiropractic?
The Illinois Medical Practice Act defines the chiropractic physician as one licensed to treat human ailments without the use of drugs or surgery. Being included in the Act provides advantages for joint ventures and network participation with other physician providers, MD/DO. Chiropractors provide adjustments to the spine and other articulations to improve function and decrease pain. The research literature refers to this type of treatment as spinal manipulative therapy (SMT). A rehabilitation exercise program and adjustments to the patient’s lifestyle, like weight loss, ergonomic training and postural correction, are provided to resolve, correct and prevent musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain.
Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) is performed in the operating room with the assistance of the anesthesiologist team for cases involving chronic conditions, like chronic fibrotic adhesions, and small disk herniations that have been shown to be resistant to regular treatments at the clinic.
I regularly utilize acupuncture to aid in pain control and other conditions, like headaches, bells palsy, anxiety, obesity and addictive behavior.
What to expect on the first day?
During the initial visit the patient undergoes a complete medical history where records and previous diagnostic tests are reviewed. Factors like work, sports and habits are also considered. This is followed by a comprehensive physical examination including orthopedic, neurological testing as well as a holistic systems review. Once a differential diagnosis is reached, the appropriateness of conservative chiropractic care is ascertained, communicated to the patient for informed consent and reported to the referring provider for continuum of care coordination.
